Description
Ganesha is the lord of the Muladhara chakra. He gets the right to the first offering in any puja worship.
In this form where he is shown dancing. He has one feet firmly on the ground and the the other up in the air. This means that even though he is connected to the world, through his one foot, he is also connected to the spiritual realm with his other foot.
In today’s world many of us are heading into the spiritual world while also having responsibilities in society. This form of Ganesha helps usremeber that this ‘to and fro’ can be also seen as dancing with dancing ganesha setting the rhythm.
One of his hands is in the abhaya mudra, which says ‘don’t fear’. One of his hands is holding his broken tooth. Muladhar is a very animal chakra, full of primal instincts. One explanation for the broken tooth is that a sacrifice is needed for getting knowledge. This broken tooth is also said to used to write the Mahabharata. One of his hands holds the laddu sweet, which signifies the rooth chakra need for basic needs like food. The fourth hand is in the gajahasta mudra. Hands like elephant trunk, loose and free like the elephant trunk but can remove hurdles like branches in a forest. It signifies spirtual protection.
I have painted it with watercolors on handmade cold pressed paper. I chose a square format as that shape is associated with the root chakra. The size of this is 7.5×7.5 inches.

I also make handmade wooden frames with joinery. I don’t have a square frame right now. Will soon add a variation with this framed as well.
