Meditating on Red – 002 original water color painting walldecor yoga

Description

This is from one of my recent experiments with color. This is from the series of Red. I am starting from the last of the Vibgyor colors.

The base of the vertical painting is kept heavy to root the painting. This bright red splash of color can enliven any room.

The black square at the bottom could also denote muladhara chakra, the foundation of our energy system. It has been intentionally kept ‘not solid’ to denote primal fears that we may have. The four petals of muladhar have been subtly indicated by the direction of the dashes.

Size of the painting is 7.5 by 17.5 inches. It is done on old paper with water color. I love working with old paper as it interacts with water in a very interesting way.
