Description

Kartikeya or Skanda is the son of Shiva and Parvati, the elder brother of Ganesha. In this painting I have portrayed him in his younger kid form, even though he is considered perpetually young or ‘kumar’. He was given the command of gods forces in one of the first wars he was involved in. He has tremendous martial energy. Also associated with the planet Mars and the gemstone red coral. He is one of the fierce dieties (ugra devta) and people who have a strong fire energy, think quick to anger, and high intensity anger can benefit.

I have painted it on handmade paper using water color paints. The size of just the painting is the 4 x 7.5 inches. I highly recommend framing the painting if you want to preserve it for a long time. I also make handmade wooden frames with joinery and you can choose to order it already framed. I always put some mounting over the painting so that the painting does not touch glass and lasts much longer this way. I use acrylic glass as it ships well without breakage. The outer measurement of the frame is 7.5 x 10 inches.
