This gauge chisel was discovered in Vadodara flea market. Good quality carbon steel takes a good sharp edge and decent edge retention. The maker’s mark is hard to read and I could only make the Sons in the end. The Sheffield mark is very visible though. The handle seem to be a whittled in workshop one. Jet black wood, but doesn’t smell like rosewood. Could it be ebony?
The width of the chisel is 1/4 of an inch.
