Description

This is a 1960s original matchbox label from India. The brand name says Rainbow, manufactured by Oriental Match Works, from Dindigul in Tamil Nadu, India. The graphic design is pretty well done with so many details and colors in such a small area.

From the scattered dots on this print, it seems to be a lithographic print. I have framed it using handmade wooden frames. I make these frames myself using handheld tools, with joinery in the corners.

Original indian lithographs are pretty rare. The bigger posters and God pictures which are hung on walls, often get damaged. Matchbox labels on the other hand have survived far better. I have currently about 300 old Indian labels from the 1950s and 60s. If you want more choice, do message me.

This would also make a great gift for a LGBTQ he/she/them. Or bring a spot of color, history and landscape to your wall.

The size of the label is about 1.5 x 2 inches. The frame size is 5.5 by 3.75 inches.
