Ajna is the third eye chakra. When open it is the all seeing eye, capable of seeing into the future. Some people connect this to the pineal gland which lies somewhere between our eyebrows. There are various yogic techniques which can help open this with practise.
One thing I have realized from personal practice is that all chakras are connected to the muladhara. The color red has been used for this because of that aspect. If your muladhara is completely open and you need only to work on your Ajna, you may skip this painting. The use of eyes has been used as a symbol, repeated again and again.
